Hotel Xcaret Arte Wedding Photographer

Adults-only sister of Hotel Xcaret México, 16 and over, with a domed chapel facing the Caribbean, stone arches over the rivers and a quieter, art-led feel.

Hotel Xcaret Arte is the adults-only half of the Xcaret complex, for guests 16 and over. It shares the rivers, the coves and the beach with Hotel Xcaret México, but it feels quieter and more art-led, and its own wedding spaces are smaller and closer together.

I photographed a wedding here with the ceremony in the Ecumenical Chapel, the domed chapel whose arch frames the sea. Before it, we did a first look in the gardens and portraits under the stone arches over the river. After it, we went to the beach for the last light.

Where to say “I do” — and how each spot photographs

Ecumenical Chapel

A covered, domed chapel open to the Caribbean, with wooden pews and a round arch that frames the sea behind the couple. The resort lists it for about 120 guests. The ceremony I photographed here was in this chapel.

Stone arches over the river

Carved rock arches and walkways over turquoise water. The light under them is soft and even all afternoon, which makes them my first choice for couple portraits before the ceremony.

The rock overhang by the river

A wide overhang of pale rock beside the water, deep enough for the whole wedding party. Family and group photos there stay in shade and never squint.

The gardens

Paths through palms and tropical planting near the rooms. A quiet first look happens here without guests walking past.

Palmeras Beach

The palm-lined beach shared with Hotel Xcaret México. The resort lists it for ceremonies of about 100 guests, and it is where I take couples for the last light.

Mirador Artistas

A small raised terrace with sea views for intimate ceremonies, cocktails or a dinner for a few. The resort lists it for about 30 to 40 guests.

Frida and Diego ballrooms

The two indoor ballrooms, listed for about 300 and 600 guests. They are the covered plan for a reception.

Hotel Xcaret Arte wedding packages and prices

These are the resort’s packages and prices, not mine. They come from published sources, checked October 2026, and the resort changes them, so confirm the current rates with its wedding team before you plan the budget.

First look — yes or no?

Recommended. The best portrait spots here, the arches over the river and the rock overhang, are at their best in the afternoon. A first look lets us use them before the ceremony and keep the last light for the beach.

Logistics worth knowing

Hotel Xcaret Arte is in the Xcaret complex south of Playa del Carmen, about an hour from Cancun airport. It is adults-only: guests have to be 16 or over. If children are invited, ask the coordinator which shared spaces with Hotel Xcaret México they can attend, or plan the wedding at México. The spaces are walked; carts are limited. The chapel, the river arches and the beach are close enough to fit in one afternoon, but the timeline is built around the exact spaces you book.

Vendor rules at Hotel Xcaret Arte

  • Outside photographers: Accepted
  • Outside photographers are accepted and registered in advance through the wedding team. Kristina has photographed a wedding here and five at Hotel Xcaret México next door.
  • These rules belong to the resort, not to me. The resort sets the fee, charges it and changes it, often from one season to the next and sometimes from one wedding to the next, so I do not publish an amount here: any number you find online is already out of date for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator at the resort to confirm it in writing, and ask early: it is a real line in the budget. It is also worth asking whether there is any flexibility. Some venues waive or reduce the fee, often when the vendor team books rooms for a few nights or when the wedding is booked through certain agencies, and plenty of couples never find out because they never ask.

The light here

Arte is on the Caribbean side, so the sea faces east and the sun sets inland. The chapel's arch frames the sea, not the sunset, and the light in it is soft and even in the late afternoon. The rock arches and the overhang lose direct light earlier than the open beach, so they go first, and the beach takes the last hour.

Questions couples ask about Hotel Xcaret Arte

Have you photographed at Hotel Xcaret Arte?

Yes. I photographed a wedding here with the ceremony in the Ecumenical Chapel, portraits under the stone arches over the river, family photos under the rock overhang and the last light on the beach. I have also photographed five weddings next door at Hotel Xcaret México, which shares the rivers and the beach.

Hotel Xcaret Arte or Hotel Xcaret México?

Arte is adults-only, for guests 16 and over, and it feels quieter and more art-led. México is family-friendly and much larger, with more settings to choose from. If children are invited, the wedding is usually planned at México. Confirm the guest rules for your date with the coordinator.

What is included in a Hotel Xcaret Arte wedding package, and how much does it cost?

The resort publishes the Paraíso package from about $16,750 for 30 guests, with the venue, the ceremony, a cocktail hour and the reception. It can be a symbolic, Catholic or legal ceremony, and the legal option costs more. Extra guests are charged per person. The rates change, so confirm them with the resort’s wedding team before you plan the budget.

Can we bring our own photographer to Hotel Xcaret Arte?

Yes. Outside photographers are accepted and registered through the wedding team. The resort sets any outside vendor fee, collects it and changes it, so we do not publish an amount. Ask your coordinator to confirm it in writing for your date, and ask whether vendors staying in your room block change it.

Where do brides get ready at Hotel Xcaret Arte?

In their own room or suite. The rooms are white and open to the light, with sheer curtains, which photographs beautifully. The spa also rents a bridal suite with hair and makeup stations; ask the coordinator about it.

Is the Ecumenical Chapel covered?

Yes. It is a covered, domed chapel open to the sea, so a short shower does not move the ceremony. For the reception, the Frida and Diego ballrooms are the covered option. Agree on the rain plan with the coordinator before the day.

Does the chapel face the sunset?

No. Its arch frames the Caribbean, which faces east. The sun sets inland, so the chapel gets soft, even light in the late afternoon. I check the sunset for your exact date before we fix the ceremony time.

How much does a wedding photographer cost at Hotel Xcaret Arte?

Experienced destination wedding photographers in this area generally run from about $3,000 to $8,000 USD for the wedding day, and more for multi-day celebrations with film. Most couples marrying at Hotel Xcaret Arte book 6-8 hours, so the coverage reaches from getting ready to the party. Travel to this venue is included or minimal, we are local. To know where I would begin for your date, tell me about it at /contact/.
