Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa

Large all-inclusive resort complex in Costa Mujeres with calm turquoise water, multiple pools and a variety of ceremony locations.

Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres is one of the largest resort complexes on Cancun's northern coast: multiple hotels sharing calm turquoise water, extensive gardens and a variety of ceremony settings including a catholic chapel — rare among all-inclusives, and the reason many couples choose it.

We have photographed several weddings here, including a chapel ceremony. The scale is the planning variable: this is a golf-cart property, and the chapel, the beach and the gardens are genuinely far apart.

Where to say “I do” — and how each spot photographs

Poseidon Terrace

Palladium currently describes Poseidon Terrace as an outdoor, relaxed setting. It is one of the spaces couples ask about most here, and one Kristina has worked.

Poseidon Glassroom

A current Palladium wedding location with an indoor/glass-enclosed feel, vegetation and sea-view context. It provides a useful weather-controlled or reception-oriented contrast to the fully open terraces and beach.

Deck by the Beach

A wooden-floor beach setting that keeps the oceanfront look while giving the ceremony a more defined surface than direct sand. It remains exposed to Caribbean wind and bright afternoon light.

Deck in The Village

Located in The Village plaza with the Costa Mujeres lake as the backdrop. It creates a very different visual language from the beach and can be useful for couples who want architecture and water without a sand ceremony.

Nuestra Señora del Rocío Catholic Chapel

The resort's modern Catholic chapel gives destination-wedding couples a formal religious ceremony option without leaving the complex.

A photo timeline that works here

Based on a winter ceremony (sunset ≈ 6 pm). I adjust it to your date and your venue coordinator's schedule.

1:30 pm
Getting ready — we start earlier here: moving around this resort is done by golf cart, and we build that time in
3:00 pm
First look and couple portraits
4:00 pm
Ceremony
4:40 pm
Family and group photos before anyone scatters
5:05 pm
Golf cart to the best photo spots — couple session in the golden hour
6:15 pm
Reception entrance and first dance
8:00 pm
Open dance floor

First look — yes or no?

Recommended. On a complex this size — especially with a chapel ceremony, which runs to a fixed schedule — a first look is what keeps the portrait time from being squeezed.

Logistics worth knowing

Treat Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres and the connected TRS Coral wedding areas as a large resort complex with multiple distinct zones. A common shape here is a ceremony on the TRS-side terrace and a reception in the Poseidon room, both of which Kristina knows. Palladium currently describes Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres as about 30 minutes from Cancun International Airport. Build transfer time between getting-ready rooms, TRS, Poseidon, beach, chapel or convention spaces into the photo timeline rather than assuming every event is adjacent.

Vendor rules at Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa

  • Outside photographers: Accepted
  • Kristina has photographed weddings at Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres and TRS Coral, so outside photographers do get access. Confirm the current fee, registration, day pass, parking and check-in process directly with the wedding coordinator.
  • These rules belong to the resort, not to me. The resort sets the fee, charges it and changes it, often from one season to the next and sometimes from one wedding to the next, so I do not publish an amount here: any number you find online is already out of date for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator at the resort to confirm it in writing, and ask early: it is a real line in the budget. It is also worth asking whether there is any flexibility. Some venues waive or reduce the fee, often when the vendor team books rooms for a few nights or when the wedding is booked through certain agencies, and plenty of couples never find out because they never ask.

The light here

For the beach, beach deck and open terraces, favor the final part of the afternoon and reserve the final 45 to 60 minutes before sunset for portraits. Costa Mujeres is on the Caribbean side, so do not promise an ocean-horizon sunset from the beach. The complex has inland-facing, lake and architectural backgrounds as well, which gives more flexibility than relying only on the beach.

Does the resort have a Catholic chapel?

Yes. Palladium currently lists the modern Nuestra Señora del Rocío Catholic Chapel among its Costa Mujeres wedding locations.

Experienced destination wedding photographers in this area generally run from about $3,000 to $8,000 USD for the wedding day, and more for multi-day celebrations with film. Most couples marrying at Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa book 6-8 hours, so the coverage reaches from getting ready to the party. Travel to this venue is included or minimal, we are local. Does Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres allow outside photographers?

Yes — like most resorts in the region, Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres typically asks for an outside-vendor fee or a day pass for external photographers. The amount changes season to season, so we confirm the current policy for your date before you sign anything.

November through April brings the driest weather and the cleanest light. Sunset moves from about 6:05 pm in late November to 7:30 pm in early July — we build your timeline around it either way.

More than at a compact venue. This is a golf-cart resort, so moving between the suites, the ceremony spot and the best photo locations takes real time. Our timelines build in roughly 25-minute transfers so nothing feels rushed; with 6–8 hours of coverage the day flows comfortably.

Does Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres have a chapel?

Yes — a catholic chapel on resort grounds, which is uncommon among all-inclusives on this coast. We have photographed a chapel wedding here; it is a strong option for religious ceremonies and a reliable rain plan.
