TRS Coral Hotel

Adults-only resort within the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres complex, with its own upscale venues and access to the full resort grounds.

TRS Coral is the adults-only enclave within the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres complex: its own upscale venues and quieter spaces, with access to the wider resort's facilities when needed. Couples get the calm of an adults-only property with the infrastructure of a large complex behind it.

We have photographed a wedding here. The rooftop is the differentiator — elevated views over the Costa Mujeres coastline that the beach-level venues in the complex cannot offer.

Where to say “I do” — and how each spot photographs

Beach TRS

Direct Caribbean backdrop with bright sand and full wind exposure. A current venue guide lists ceremonies up to 200 guests, while other current sources publish larger cocktail capacities. Confirm the final setup rather than planning around one universal maximum.

Gravity Terrace Rooftop

Adults-only rooftop terrace with open sky and a more elevated perspective than the beach. Current wedding guides place ceremony capacity around 120 guests and say private events here finish earlier than the main evening reception spaces.

Helios Terrace

Covered terrace on the TRS side that works well when you want ocean proximity without putting the event directly in sand. Current venue information lists approximately 100 guests for ceremony and smaller seated receptions depending on setup.

Aurum Terrace

Smaller adults-only terrace used primarily for cocktails or intimate receptions. Current planning information lists evening availability rather than a full-day event window.

Catholic Chapel

Air-conditioned chapel inside the Palladium complex. Current Palladium material confirms chapel weddings; a current wedding guide states it is reserved for Catholic ceremonies.

A photo timeline that works here

Based on a winter ceremony (sunset ≈ 6 pm). I adjust it to your date and your venue coordinator's schedule.

1:30 pm
Getting ready — we start earlier here: moving around this resort is done by golf cart, and we build that time in
3:00 pm
First look and couple portraits
4:00 pm
Ceremony
4:40 pm
Family and group photos before anyone scatters
5:05 pm
Golf cart to the best photo spots — couple session in the golden hour
6:15 pm
Reception entrance and first dance
8:00 pm
Open dance floor

First look — yes or no?

Recommended. It is part of a large golf-cart complex, so securing portraits early protects the golden hour for the rooftop and the shoreline.

Logistics worth knowing

TRS Coral is inside the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres complex, roughly 35 minutes from Cancun International Airport according to current Palladium event information. The property includes TRS-only spaces as well as shared Grand Palladium wedding locations, so confirm whether getting ready, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception are all on the TRS side or require movement across the larger complex. A common combination here is a ceremony on a TRS-side terrace followed by a reception in the Poseidon area, which is ground Kristina has worked.

Vendor rules at TRS Coral Hotel

  • Outside photographers: Accepted
  • Outside photographers are accepted, and Kristina has photographed weddings at TRS Coral. A current planning guide says the photography/video vendor fee may be waived when the outside vendor is booked within the wedding group room block for a minimum of three nights, double occupancy. Confirm that waiver with the resort for your wedding.
  • These rules belong to the resort, not to me. The resort sets the fee, charges it and changes it, often from one season to the next and sometimes from one wedding to the next, so I do not publish an amount here: any number you find online is already out of date for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator at the resort to confirm it in writing, and ask early: it is a real line in the budget. It is also worth asking whether there is any flexibility. Some venues waive or reduce the fee, often when the vendor team books rooms for a few nights or when the wedding is booked through certain agencies, and plenty of couples never find out because they never ask.

The light here

Costa Mujeres is on the Caribbean side, so the water is the sunrise direction and sunset falls inland. Protect the final 45 to 60 minutes before sunset for portraits. Cancun sunsets are around 6:15-6:30 p.m. in winter and roughly 7:25-7:33 p.m. through much of June. Rooftop and western-facing angles can show the warmer sunset sky even though the sun does not set over the Caribbean.

Questions couples ask about TRS Coral Hotel

Can we bring our own photographer to TRS Coral?

Yes. Outside photographers work at the resort, and Kristina has photographed weddings at TRS Coral.

Is there an outside photographer fee?

Yes, though planning sources do not agree on how it is structured: one describes a charge for a team of up to two people plus more per additional person, another a flat charge per outside service per day. Confirm what your own Palladium wedding contract says.

Can the photographer stay at the resort instead of paying the vendor fee?

A current Grand Palladium wedding guide says the fee may be waived for photographers and videographers booked within the wedding group room block for at least three nights, double occupancy. Ask the wedding department to confirm that the waiver applies to your contract.

Does the sun set over the ocean at TRS Coral?

No. The Caribbean beach is primarily the sunrise side. For sunset portraits, use the final part of the afternoon and favor open western sky or elevated terrace angles.

How much does a wedding photographer cost at TRS Coral?

Experienced destination wedding photographers in this area generally run from about $3,000 to $8,000 USD for the wedding day, and more for multi-day celebrations with film. Most couples marrying at TRS Coral Hotel book 6-8 hours, so the coverage reaches from getting ready to the party. Travel to this venue is included or minimal, we are local. To see where I would begin for your date, the collections live at /pricing/.

How much time do photos need at TRS Coral?

More than at a compact venue. This is a golf-cart resort, so moving between the suites, the ceremony spot and the best photo locations takes real time. Our timelines build in roughly 25-minute transfers so nothing feels rushed; with 6–8 hours of coverage the day flows comfortably.

What is the difference between TRS Coral and Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres?

TRS Coral is the adults-only hotel inside the wider Palladium complex, with its own upscale venues and a rooftop. You get quieter backgrounds and elevated views, with the larger resort's facilities — including the chapel — still available.
