Puerto Aventuras Wedding Photographer

Puerto Aventuras is a gated marina community between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, and that changes the photographs. Instead of open coast you get a sheltered beach with calm water, and boats and masts in the background. The setting reads more coastal town than resort strip. There is no crashing surf during the vows. At the end of the day the still water mirrors the sky.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya is the venue I have photographed here. It sits inside the marina, with its gazebo close to the water and a beach beside it for larger groups. There is a garden for couples who do not want their guests in the sand, and a rooftop terrace with a wider horizon. It is more compact than most Riviera Maya resorts and comfortably walkable, so the timeline breathes. A ceremony in the afternoon, family photographs right after, and the last hour of light for the two of you. Like the rest of this coast, the beach faces east. The sun sets inland, and the portraits happen in soft light, not against a sunset over the sea.
