Dreams Puerto Aventuras sits inside a gated marina community rather than on the open coast, and that changes the photographs: a sheltered beach with calm water, boats and masts in the background, and a marina-side setting that reads more coastal-town than resort-strip.
We have photographed here. The calm water is the practical advantage — no crashing surf during vows, and a shoreline that mirrors the sky beautifully at the end of the day.
Where to say “I do” — and how each spot photographs
Gazebo
Oceanfront ceremony setting positioned close to the water. Current venue information lists approximately 90 guests for ceremony, with much smaller cocktail or reception layouts.
Gazebo Beach
Beachfront setup next to the gazebo that gives more room when the guest count is larger. Current wedding listings place the setup around 120 guests depending on event type.
Rooftop Terrace
Open-sky option above the resort with a broader horizon than the ground-level garden and beach spaces. Current and older venue documents disagree on maximum capacity, so confirm the current floor plan directly with the resort.
Dream Garden
Green outdoor alternative to the beach, useful when a couple wants tropical surroundings without having guests directly in sand. Published capacities vary by setup.

Optional. The resort is comfortably walkable, so ceremony-first timelines work for ceremonies up to about 4:30 pm in winter. Later than that, a first look protects the golden hour.
Logistics worth knowing
Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya is in Puerto Aventuras, about 59-65 minutes from Cancun International Airport in current transport estimates. The official resort has 305 rooms and wedding settings spread across beach, gazebo, garden, rooftop and indoor spaces, but it is more compact than many large Riviera Maya resorts. The hotel collects vendor information in advance through its external-vendor form.
Vendor rules at Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort & Spa
- Outside photographers: Accepted
- Outside photographers are accepted, and Kristina has photographed weddings at the resort. The hotel preregisters external teams through a vendor form and asks for the photographer's contact details, phone number included, so leave time for that before the wedding.
- These rules belong to the resort, not to me. The resort sets the fee, charges it and changes it, often from one season to the next and sometimes from one wedding to the next, so I do not publish an amount here: any number you find online is already out of date for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator at the resort to confirm it in writing, and ask early: it is a real line in the budget. It is also worth asking whether there is any flexibility. Some venues waive or reduce the fee, often when the vendor team books rooms for a few nights or when the wedding is booked through certain agencies, and plenty of couples never find out because they never ask.

The light here
Puerto Aventuras is on the Caribbean side, so sunrise is over the water and sunset falls west/inland. Winter sunset is around 6:20 p.m. at the beginning of January and shifts later through the season; June runs roughly 7:25-7:27 p.m. Protect the final 45 to 60 minutes before sunset for portraits. In early October, sunset here lands around 6:30 p.m., so an autumn ceremony timeline has to protect the portraits before that light goes.

Can we bring our own photographer to Dreams Aventuras?
Yes. Kristina has photographed weddings there, and the resort preregisters outside photography teams through its vendor form.
Is there an outside photographer fee?
Yes, resort package information publishes an outside-vendor fee. The resort sets it, collects it and revises it, so we do not publish an amount: any figure would already be old for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator to confirm it in writing.
Does the photographer also need a Day Pass or Wedding Pass?
Ask, because they are two different things. The resort publishes guest Day Pass and Wedding Pass prices, but public material does not clearly say an outside photographer must buy one on top of the vendor fee. Have the coordinator confirm the exact access credential.
Does the resort register outside photographers in advance?
Yes. The hotel vendor form asks for the photographer's contact information, phone number included.
