Why do a bridal photo shoot in Tulum
Why a bridal photo shoot in Tulum is worth doing before the wedding: unhurried portraits in your dress, a rehearsal for hair and makeup, and the beach to yourself.
On the wedding day, portraits of the bride compete with everything else: the family, the timeline, the guests. A bridal photo shoot gives you that time back. In Tulum, it also gives you one of the most beautiful backdrops in Mexico.
Why do a bridal shoot
- Time with your dress. Unhurried portraits, without anyone waiting for you.
- A rehearsal for hair and makeup. You see how your look photographs and can adjust it before the day.
- Places you will not reach on the wedding day. The beach, the jungle paths and the textured walls Tulum is known for.
- Practice in front of the camera. By the wedding day, you will already feel at ease.
- A gift for your partner. Some brides add a few boudoir images to make a small book.
Planning it in Tulum
The afternoon is the best time. Tulum’s beach faces east, so the sun sets behind the trees, and the late light on the sand is soft and kind to skin.
There is almost always a breeze on the beach. It is beautiful with a veil, so plan a hairstyle that can move with it. And if you want to use a hotel’s beach or garden, ask the hotel ahead of time: some ask for authorisation before a professional session.
See the sessions I have photographed in Tulum, and when you know your dates, tell me about your session.
