Be Tulum Hotel
Design-forward beachfront boutique hotel at the quiet south end of the Tulum hotel zone, with intimate spaces for small luxury weddings.
Be Tulum sits at the quiet south end of the hotel zone, where the beach is wider and the crowds thin out. It is design-forward without being ostentatious — wood, stone, private plunge pools and intimate spaces that work far better for a small celebration than for a big production.
We have photographed weddings elsewhere on this stretch of Tulum beach, though not yet at Be Tulum itself. The south end is genuinely calmer: fewer neighbouring beach clubs in the frame and more room for a ceremony that does not feel squeezed between properties.
Where to say “I do” — and how each spot photographs
Mare'zia Beach
Direct Caribbean beachfront. This is the strongest ocean setting, but the open sand is exposed to wind, reflective light and seasonal beach conditions. The sea is on the sunrise side, not the sunset side.
Mare'zia Terrace
Elevated treetop terrace with broad 360-degree views. It is the better starting point when a couple wants late-afternoon sky color without placing the event directly in sand.
Ocumare
Jungle-forward outdoor restaurant/event setting with warmer artificial light and much more shade than the beach. It works better after sunset than as the main source of open natural portrait light.

Optional. Everything is a short walk and the beach is quiet, so a ceremony-first timeline works. For late-afternoon ceremonies in winter, a first look keeps the golden hour free.
Logistics worth knowing
Be Tulum is directly on the Tulum Hotel Zone beach road at Carretera Tulum-Boca Paila Km 10. Wedding/event access should be coordinated through the Events team because the normal Beach Club policy restricts professional cameras and drones. Hotel Zone traffic can materially affect vendor arrival, so build a buffer and confirm drop-off, parking and equipment access before the wedding.
Vendor rules at Be Tulum Hotel

- Be Tulum hosts weddings, productions and photoshoots, and its Events team lists Photography and Videography among tailored event services. However, the general Beach Club policy prohibits professional cameras and drones for normal guest access. A wedding photographer should therefore be registered and explicitly authorized through the Events team rather than entering as a regular Beach Club guest. The venue does not publish a current amount, so

The hotel sets the fee, charges it and changes it, often from one season to the next and sometimes from one wedding to the next, so I do not publish an amount here: any number you find online is already out of date for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator at the hotel to confirm it in writing, and ask early: it is a real line in the budget. It is also worth asking whether there is any flexibility. Some venues waive or reduce the fee, often when the vendor team books rooms for a few nights or when the wedding is booked through certain agencies, and plenty of couples never find out because they never ask.

The light here
Be Tulum is on the east-facing Caribbean coast, so sunrise is over the water and sunset falls inland. Protect the final 45 to 60 minutes before sunset for portraits, but do not promise an ocean sunset. In Tulum, early January sunset is around 6:21 p.m.; summer sunsets are around 7:30 p.m. The elevated Mare'zia Terrace can retain open-sky color later than shaded jungle spaces.

Can we bring our own photographer to Be Tulum?
Professional wedding photography is compatible with Be Tulum's event operation, but it needs to be authorized through the Events team. Do not assume that a normal Beach Club reservation allows professional cameras.
How much is the outside photographer fee?
The venue does not publish a current amount, so ask Be Tulum Events to confirm the photographer fee, registration process and whether it is charged per company, person or event.
Are professional cameras allowed at the Beach Club?

Can we use a drone?
Do not assume so. Be Tulum's general Beach Club policy prohibits drones. A wedding-specific exception or permit was not verified, so request written approval from Events before planning drone coverage.
