Casa Malca is the most photographed private property in Tulum, and for good reason: a beachfront mansion turned art hotel, filled with a serious contemporary collection and interiors that look staged even when they are not. The curtain-draped pool, the graphic floors and the sculptural pieces scattered through the property give a wedding gallery range that no beach resort can match.
We have photographed weddings, boudoir and family sessions here across several years. What we have learned is that the day should be planned around the interiors as much as the beach — the art is the reason couples choose Casa Malca, and it deserves real time in the schedule, not five rushed minutes.

Philosophy Beach
The most intimate official beach option, currently listed for up to 40 guests. It gives a direct Caribbean background but is fully exposed to wind, reflective sand and midday sun.
Casa Malca Beach
A larger central beach area currently listed for up to 150 guests and available only with a full property buyout. It gives a wide ocean background but should be timed later in the day for more comfortable light.
Rooftop
The strongest option for a visible sunset angle because Casa Malca describes it as a 360-degree view of the jungle and Caribbean. It is elevated and exposed, so wind and direct sun should be considered.
Main Entrance
A highly architectural ceremony space currently listed for up to 150 guests. The 2024 wedding presentation says this location is available only with a buyout and exclusively for ceremonies, so reconfirm that rule for the current date.

Yes, and do it indoors. A first look among the art gives your gallery its editorial spine and takes the pressure off the post-ceremony window — which at Casa Malca you will want to spend on the beach and at the curtain pool while the light is soft.
Logistics worth knowing
Casa Malca is a concentrated boutique property rather than a large all-inclusive resort, but wedding access still varies by event space. The current site lists Casa Malca Beach as available only with a full buyout. The hotel's 2024 wedding presentation says outdoor events over 20 guests do not receive a built-in backup location and recommends considering tents; it also lists an 11:00 p.m. event end time, both of which should be reconfirmed because that policy document is from 2024.

- Casa Malca's own wedding presentation allows authorized outside vendors as long as they comply with the hotel's standards and policies. The hotel does not publish a photographer fee, day-pass requirement or registration deadline, so confirm those directly with the wedding team.
- These rules belong to the hotel, not to me. The hotel sets the fee, charges it and changes it, often from one season to the next and sometimes from one wedding to the next, so I do not publish an amount here: any number you find online is already out of date for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator at the hotel to confirm it in writing, and ask early: it is a real line in the budget. It is also worth asking whether there is any flexibility. Some venues waive or reduce the fee, often when the vendor team books rooms for a few nights or when the wedding is booked through certain agencies, and plenty of couples never find out because they never ask.

The light here
Casa Malca's beach faces the Caribbean, so the ocean is on the sunrise side and the setting sun falls inland. Use the final 45 to 60 minutes before sunset for beach portraits. For a visible sunset background, the Rooftop is the better option because the hotel describes it as having 360-degree views of both the jungle and Caribbean.
