Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya
Luxury beachfront resort on the Tulum-area coast with polished modern architecture, multiple pools and dedicated event lawns and terraces.
Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya is the polished, contemporary end of the Tulum-area spectrum: modern architecture, expansive pools, dedicated event lawns and terraces built for celebrations at scale. Where the Tulum hotel zone is boho and barefoot, Conrad is clean lines and infrastructure — which suits couples who want a design-forward wedding with a resort behind it.
We have photographed an engagement session here, and the architecture is genuinely photogenic: reflecting pools, long sightlines and framed ocean views that flatter an editorial approach.
Where to say “I do” — and how each spot photographs
Crudo Beach
Official current wedding table lists ceremony capacity at 70. Open Caribbean light and wind make the final part of the afternoon easier to photograph than midday.
Arbolea Terrace
Official current ceremony capacity is 80. Solid flooring makes movement and formal portraits easier than sand while retaining an outdoor setting.
Crudo Terrace
Official current ceremony capacity is 80. Useful when the couple wants open air without committing the full ceremony to the beach.
Carbon Garden
Official current ceremony capacity is 80. Greenery creates more shade and softer backgrounds than the beach, but direct sunlight disappears earlier.
Mangroves
Official current ceremony capacity is 10. Best treated as an intimate/elopement-scale location.
Coba Terrace
Large event terrace with official current ceremony capacity up to 400. Useful for multicultural and large-format weddings where guest flow and production access matter.
A photo timeline that works here
Based on a winter ceremony (sunset ≈ 6 pm). I adjust it to your date and your venue coordinator's schedule.
- 2:00 pm
- Getting ready — details, dress, final touches
- 3:15 pm
- First look and couple portraits
- 4:00 pm
- Ceremony
- 4:40 pm
- Family and wedding-party photos where the ceremony ends
- 5:10 pm
- Golden-hour couple session
- 6:15 pm
- Reception entrance and first dance
- 8:00 pm
- Open dance floor
First look — yes or no?
Recommended. Conrad is a large property and event schedules can run tight; a first look in the architectural spaces secures your portraits and gives the gallery its modern chapter before the beach takes over.
Logistics worth knowing
Conrad Tulum is on Highway 307 in the Tulkal/Chemuyil area, north of Tulum town. Hilton currently lists Tulum International Airport about 40.6 miles away and Cancun International Airport about 59.5 miles away. Conrad's own 2025 event brochure describes the drives as approximately one hour from TQO and two hours from CUN. The property has multiple beach, terrace, garden and convention-center zones, so build walking/transport time into a multi-venue wedding timeline.
Vendor rules at Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya
- Outside photographers: Accepted
- Conrad Tulum permits couples to work with their own vendors, but a current venue profile states that an external vendor fee applies. The venue does not publish a current amount, so confirm the amount, team-size rule and access credential directly with the wedding coordinator.
- These rules belong to the resort, not to me. The resort sets the fee, charges it and changes it, often from one season to the next and sometimes from one wedding to the next, so I do not publish an amount here: any number you find online is already out of date for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator at the resort to confirm it in writing, and ask early: it is a real line in the budget. It is also worth asking whether there is any flexibility. Some venues waive or reduce the fee, often when the vendor team books rooms for a few nights or when the wedding is booked through certain agencies, and plenty of couples never find out because they never ask.

The light here
Conrad Tulum sits on the east-facing Mexican Caribbean, so the open water is the sunrise side. Protect the final 45 to 60 minutes before sunset for beach portraits and use terraces/gardens for open shade earlier in the day. Early-January sunset in the Tulum area is around 6:21 p.m., while summer sunset is around 7:30 p.m. Do not promise a literal sun-into-the-sea sunset.
