Secrets Tulum brings full resort amenities to the Tulum aesthetic: adults-only, all-inclusive, with white stone, woven wood and rooftops that read more boho than corporate. The main resort sits inland in Aldea Zama, among the jungle, and its beach is a separate beach club a short shuttle ride away. For couples who want the Tulum look with guest rooms on site, catering handled and a coordinator on staff, it is one of the most practical choices on this coast.
I have photographed a wedding here, and it never left the main resort. The ceremony was in the Sky Wedding Gazebo, a round rooftop structure of tall white frames, with the jungle canopy all around. Portraits went to the pool among the palms, a rope-railed wooden bridge and white stone stairs. The sun set over the jungle from the rooftop, and the reception stayed up there under string lights.

Sky Wedding Gazebo
A round rooftop structure of tall white frames over a dark wooden deck, listed for about 120 guests. Our ceremony was here, with a round flower arch and the jungle canopy behind. The view is over the trees, not the sea.
Rooftop Garden
A large open-air rooftop for ceremonies, cocktails and receptions of about 120. It catches the sunset over the jungle, which the beach cannot.
Pools, bridge and stairs
A pool lined with palms and white sand, a wooden bridge with rope railings and white stone stairs with built-in seating. Our couple portraits and family photos were made here.
Sky Pool Deck
A small deck by a glass-covered pool, listed for about 50 guests.
The beach at the Beach Club
A real Caribbean beach ceremony, at the separate beach club reached by shuttle. Listed for about 150 guests for a ceremony, with its own venue fee. Build the transfer into the timeline.
Willy's Terrace
A beach club terrace close to the sea, for a smaller celebration that wants the beach without every table in the sand.
Jaguar Ballroom
An air-conditioned indoor room for about 150 guests, and the rain plan.

These are the resort’s packages and prices, not mine. They come from published sources, checked October 2026, and the resort changes them, so confirm the current rates with its wedding team before you plan the budget.

Ranges, not quotes: the price changes with the season and the day of the week, and extra guests are charged per person. Some venues, like the beach, carry their own fee. Confirm everything with the resort’s wedding team, in writing, for your date.

First look — yes or no?
Recommended if your ceremony is after 4:30 pm in winter. The rooftop is at its best at sunset, and a first look earlier frees that window entirely for the two of you.
Logistics worth knowing
Secrets Tulum's main resort is in Aldea Zama rather than directly on the beach. The resort's current FAQ describes Zamna Beach Club as a short complimentary shuttle ride from the main property. Current wedding-specialist references estimate roughly 15 minutes. Hyatt/Secrets currently lists the resort at approximately 40 minutes from Tulum International Airport and about 1 hour 45 minutes from Cancun International Airport. Exact wedding-day transfer times should be confirmed because traffic, shuttle schedules and private wedding transportation can change.
Vendor rules at Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club

- Kristina has photographed a wedding here. The main resort is inland in Aldea Zama and the Zamna Beach Club is a separate beach location reached by complimentary shuttle. Build transfer time into any timeline that moves between the resort and Beach Club. The 2026 guide separately publishes Wedding Pass and Full Wedding Pass prices, but does not clearly state that an outside photographer must buy one in addition to the photography vendor fee.
- These rules belong to the resort, not to me. The resort sets the fee, charges it and changes it, often from one season to the next and sometimes from one wedding to the next, so I do not publish an amount here: any number you find online is already out of date for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator at the resort to confirm it in writing, and ask early: it is a real line in the budget. It is also worth asking whether there is any flexibility. Some venues waive or reduce the fee, often when the vendor team books rooms for a few nights or when the wedding is booked through certain agencies, and plenty of couples never find out because they never ask.

The light here
The main resort is inland, so its rooftops face open sky in every direction, including the west. That is the rare thing here: from the rooftop the sun sets over the jungle, and our couple had their last portraits in it. Keep the final 45 to 60 minutes before sunset for portraits. At the beach club the sea faces east, so the light there is soft but the sun does not set over the water.

Is there an outside photographer fee?
Yes, the resort's wedding guide lists one for photography and video, and says prices are subject to change. The resort sets it, collects it and revises it, so we do not publish an amount: any figure would already be old for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator to confirm it in writing.
Can we avoid the photographer vendor fee by booking a room?
The 2026 wedding guide says the outside-vendor fee is waived when the vendor stays a minimum of three nights at the resort. Confirm that the room is booked in the way your wedding coordinator requires before relying on the waiver.
Is Secrets Tulum directly on the beach?

Does the sun set over the ocean?
No. The Caribbean is the sunrise side. From the rooftop at the main resort, though, the sun sets over the jungle, and that is where I would plan the last portraits.
How late can the party go at Secrets Tulum?
The Sky Wedding Gazebo is listed until 10 p.m., and the Rooftop Garden and the ballroom until 11 p.m. Confirm the end time for your venue with the coordinator, in writing.
What is the rain plan at Secrets Tulum?
The Jaguar Ballroom, indoors and air-conditioned. Agree on it with the coordinator before the day, so the call is quick. Rain here is usually a short storm, and a few dry minutes are often enough for portraits on the rooftop.
