Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club

Adults-only all-inclusive resort on the Tulum coast combining resort amenities with the bohemian Tulum aesthetic.

Secrets Tulum brings full resort amenities to the Tulum aesthetic: adults-only, all-inclusive, with a rooftop that reads more boho than corporate and a long beachfront for ceremonies. For couples who want the Tulum look without the logistics of a small boutique hotel — guest rooms on site, catering handled, a coordinator on staff — it is one of the most practical choices on this coast.

We have photographed here, and the rooftop is the differentiator: elevated ocean views that most Tulum properties, built low into the jungle, simply cannot offer.

Where to say “I do” — and how each spot photographs

Sky Wedding Gazebo

Elevated open-air venue at the main resort. Current wedding listings place ceremony capacity up to 150 guests. It is a strong option when a couple wants open sky without transferring the full wedding to the Beach Club.

Rooftop Garden Spa

Large open-air rooftop/garden option at the inland resort. Current specialist wedding references list ceremonies, cocktails and receptions up to approximately 150 guests depending on setup.

Central Beach at Zamna Beach Club

True Caribbean beach ceremony setting at the separate Zamna Beach Club. Current specialist references place ceremony/cocktail capacity around 80 and reception around 60. Because the Beach Club is separate from the main resort, timeline transportation matters.

Willy's Terrace

Beach Club terrace close to the Caribbean. Current wedding references list approximately 60 for ceremony and around 40 for reception. Useful for a smaller celebration that wants beach proximity without placing every table directly in sand.

Barracuda Bar

Beachfront cocktail venue at Zamna Beach Club. Current listings place it around 80 guests for cocktail hour.

Jaguar Ballroom

Air-conditioned indoor venue and rain-backup option. Current wedding listings place it around 150 guests depending on layout.

A photo timeline that works here

Based on a winter ceremony (sunset ≈ 6 pm). I adjust it to your date and your venue coordinator's schedule.

2:00 pm
Getting ready — details, dress, final touches
3:15 pm
First look and couple portraits
4:00 pm
Ceremony
4:40 pm
Family and wedding-party photos where the ceremony ends
5:10 pm
Golden-hour couple session
6:15 pm
Reception entrance and first dance
8:00 pm
Open dance floor

First look — yes or no?

Recommended if your ceremony is after 4:30 pm in winter. The rooftop is at its best right at golden hour, and a first look earlier frees that window entirely for the two of you.

Logistics worth knowing

Secrets Tulum's main resort is in Aldea Zama rather than directly on the beach. The resort's current FAQ describes Zamna Beach Club as a short complimentary shuttle ride from the main property. Current wedding-specialist references estimate roughly 15 minutes. Hyatt/Secrets currently lists the resort at approximately 40 minutes from Tulum International Airport and about 1 hour 45 minutes from Cancun International Airport. Exact wedding-day transfer times should be confirmed because traffic, shuttle schedules and private wedding transportation can change.

Vendor rules at Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club

  • Outside photographers: Accepted
  • Kristina has photographed a wedding here. The main resort is inland in Aldea Zama and the Zamna Beach Club is a separate beach location reached by complimentary shuttle. Build transfer time into any timeline that moves between the resort and Beach Club. The 2026 guide separately publishes Wedding Pass and Full Wedding Pass prices, but does not clearly state that an outside photographer must buy one in addition to the photography vendor fee.
  • These rules belong to the resort, not to me. The resort sets the fee, charges it and changes it, often from one season to the next and sometimes from one wedding to the next, so I do not publish an amount here: any number you find online is already out of date for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator at the resort to confirm it in writing, and ask early: it is a real line in the budget. It is also worth asking whether there is any flexibility. Some venues waive or reduce the fee, often when the vendor team books rooms for a few nights or when the wedding is booked through certain agencies, and plenty of couples never find out because they never ask.

The light here

Tulum's Caribbean beach is the sunrise side, so the sun does not set into the ocean. Protect the final 45 to 60 minutes before sunset for portraits. In Tulum, winter sunset runs close to 6:10 p.m. and summer past 7:30, so the portrait window moves with your date. At the inland resort, rooftop and open-sky spaces can show the warm western sky; at Zamna Beach Club, use the soft final light over the water but do not promise a literal ocean sunset.

Questions couples ask about Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club

Can we bring our own photographer to Secrets Tulum?

Yes. Kristina has photographed a wedding here, and the resort's 2026 wedding guide explicitly publishes an outside Photography/Videographer fee.

Is there an outside photographer fee?

Yes, the resort's wedding guide lists one for photography and video, and says prices are subject to change. The resort sets it, collects it and revises it, so we do not publish an amount: any figure would already be old for your date. Ask your wedding coordinator to confirm it in writing.

Can we avoid the photographer vendor fee by booking a room?

The 2026 wedding guide says the outside-vendor fee is waived when the vendor stays a minimum of three nights at the resort. Confirm that the room is booked in the way your wedding coordinator requires before relying on the waiver.

Does our photographer also need a Wedding Pass?

The guide lists wedding passes separately, but it does not state that an outside photographer must buy one on top of the photography fee. Ask the coordinator to confirm the exact access credential.

Is Secrets Tulum directly on the beach?

The main resort is inland in Aldea Zama. The resort has a separate Zamna Beach Club reached by complimentary shuttle, so getting-ready, ceremony and reception locations should be checked before finalizing the photography timeline.

Does the sun set over the ocean?

No. The Caribbean is the sunrise side. For sunset portraits, use the final 45 to 60 minutes of softer light and favor rooftop or open western-sky angles if you want the sunset color itself.

How much does a wedding photographer cost at Secrets Tulum?

Experienced destination wedding photographers in this area generally run from about $3,000 to $8,000 USD for the wedding day, and more for multi-day celebrations with film. Most couples marrying at Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club book 6-8 hours, so the coverage reaches from getting ready to the party. Travel to this venue is included or minimal, we are local.
