Guide · The packages
Cancun & Riviera Maya wedding packages
Every resort on this coast sells its weddings as packages, and every one names and prices them differently. These are the packages of the resorts I know, side by side, with what they include and what they leave out.
What they are: resort bundles priced for a set number of guests, with extra guests charged per person. What changes the price: the season, the day of the week and the guest count. What they leave out: usually your own photographer, any outside vendor fee and most décor upgrades.
How resort wedding packages work
A resort package is a bundle priced for a set number of guests. The smallest cover the ceremony itself: the setup, an officiant, flowers for the couple, a cake and a toast. The middle levels add a cocktail hour and a reception. The largest add décor, an open bar, music and extras for the guests.
Every guest beyond the number included is charged per person, and that per-guest price is often what decides the real cost. The same package also changes with the season and the day of the week: Monday to Wednesday, and August to October, are usually cheaper.
- “Free” packages are free with a condition: a minimum number of paid room nights or rooms in your group.
- Venue fees: some ceremony spots carry their own fee on top of the package.
- Photography: many packages include a few photos or a short video by the resort’s team, not full coverage of the day.
- Outside vendors: bringing your own photographer or planner may add a fee that the resort sets and changes.
All-inclusive wedding packages, resort by resort
These are the published 2026 prices of the resorts I know, gathered from several sources and shown as ranges where they disagree. They are the resorts’ prices, not mine, and they change, so confirm the current rates with each resort’s wedding team before you plan the budget. Each name links to my guide to that resort, with its venues, its light and its rain plan.

How to compare two packages
Start with your guest count, not the headline price. Add the extra guests at the per-person rate, then check which package includes the reception. A cheaper ceremony package with a reception bought separately can end up costing more than a full package.
Then look at what you would change anyway. Most couples upgrade the flowers, the décor or the music, and bring their own photographer. Ask the resort for those prices in writing before you compare.
Finally, look at the place, not only the paper. The same package photographs very differently at a gazebo facing the sea, in a chapel or on a rooftop. That is what my venue guides are for, and the destination wedding guide covers the full budget.
The photographer and the package
The photos included in a resort package are usually a short set from the ceremony. They are not a record of the whole day. If you bring your own photographer, ask the resort two things in writing: whether there is an outside vendor fee, and whether the package price changes without the resort’s photos. The resort photographer guide explains what to ask.

Questions couples ask
What is included in a Cancun all-inclusive wedding package?
It depends on the level. The smallest packages cover the ceremony: the setup, an officiant, flowers for the couple, a cake and a toast. The middle ones add a cocktail hour and a reception, and the largest add décor, an open bar, music and extras for the guests. Most include a coordinator and a few short photos or a ceremony video by the resort’s own team.
Are the free wedding packages in Cancun really free?
The package itself is, but it comes with a condition: a minimum number of paid room nights or rooms in your group. It usually covers a simple ceremony, and the reception, the décor and the extra guests are paid separately.
How much does a wedding in Cancun cost?
The resort package is only one part. Add the extra guests, the reception upgrades, the décor, any outside vendors and the photographer. Experienced destination wedding photographers here generally run from about $3,000 to $8,000 USD for the wedding day. The destination wedding guide on this site walks through full budgets.
Do resort wedding packages include photography?
Many include a small set of photos or a short ceremony video by the resort’s team. That is not the same as full coverage of the day. If you bring your own photographer, ask the resort how that changes the package, and whether there is an outside vendor fee.
Can we bring our own photographer if we book a resort package?
At most resorts on this coast, yes. The resort may charge an outside vendor fee, which it sets, collects and changes. Ask the wedding coordinator to confirm it for your date, in writing, before you sign.
Why do the published prices differ between sources?
Resorts change their rates by season, by day of the week and by year, and each agency publishes the version it has. That is why the prices here are shown as ranges and dated. The resort’s wedding team has the only current number.
